Truth: We do not worship a date; we worship the Savior. Luke 2:10–11; John 1:14
Today we remember the greatest gift ever given to mankind — Jesus Christ.
The Bible records His birth clearly, but it does not command a specific date for celebration. What matters most is not when He was born, but why He was born.
1. JESUS WAS BORN FOR OUR SALVATION
Luke 2:11“Unto you is born… a Savior.”
Jesus did not come to start a holiday. He came to save humanity from sin.
Matthew 1:21 — He shall save His people from their sins.
2. GOD BECAME FLESH
John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
This is the miracle of Christ’s birth:
• God came near
• Heaven touched earth
• Eternity entered time
3. THE BIBLE DOES NOT FIX A DATE
Scripture gives the event, not the date.
This teaches us that:
• Faith is more important than festivals
• Obedience is greater than tradition
Romans 14:5–6 — Each believer must honor the Lord with understanding.
4. HOW SHOULD CHRISTIANS MARK THIS SEASON?
If we remember Christ’s birth, let it lead to:
• Worship (Luke 2:13–14)
• Gratitude (Colossians 3:17)
• Love and generosity (John 3:16)
• Holiness (Titus 2:11–12)
5. CHRIST MUST BE LIVED, NOT JUST CELEBRATED
Celebrating Christ one day is not enough.
He must be:
• Received (John 1:12)
• Followed daily (Luke 9:23)
• Reflected in our lives (Galatians 2:20)
CONCLUSION
The birth of Jesus is truth.
The date is tradition.
Let us honor Christ not only with songs and seasons, but with obedient lives and surrendered hearts.
The greatest response to Christ’s birth is to receive Him as Lord and Savior.
Christ lives in me. Every day, God is with me.”
